PWP AND THE DURST ORGANIZATION PRESENT LANDMARK EXHIBIT

NEW YORK CITY: Professional Women Photographers, Inc. (PWP), an organization of more than 200 photojournalists, fine arts and commercial photographers, is pleased to present a landmark exhibition of 73 images, “Eyewitness, Parts I and II.”  The 12 week photographic festival celebrating the extraordinary vision of 57 women artists will be on display at Show Walls, The Durst Organization gallery at 1133 Avenue of the Americas, N.Y., N.Y. 10036.  The Durst Organization sponsors exhibitions in three of its midtown Manhattan buildings as part of its ongoing commitment to the arts.  Part I runs from September 1 through October 13, 2005 and Part II will be on view from October 20 through December 1, 2005. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 6 PM.  PWP and The Durst Organization are proud to invite the press and the public to an Artists’ Reception for “Eyewitness, Parts I and II” scheduled respectively for Thursday, September 15th, from 6 PM– 8 PM and Tuesday, October 25, from 6 PM– 8 PM.

“Eyewitness” richly reinterprets what Minor White referred to as "seeing things not just for what they are, but for what else they are."  Part I invites the viewer to enter into the dreams and dramas of narrative images.  Part II crackles with abstract color and energy that excites the eye and engages the mind.

Professional Women Photographers is a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization based in New York City.  PWP has been supporting the work of women photographers for 30 years providing forums and scholarships to encourage artistic growth and to stimulate public interest in the art of photography.
