The gallery is having an Affordable Print Sale in December. All work will be archivally matted at 11″x14″, in plastic sleeves, and available for the low price of $125.  Each member may have up to 3 images.  

At the same time there will be a group show called Holiday Popup!… all framed work being $250 or less (my work included).  So this is a good time to get your favorite artists’ work at a reasonable price.

Come on out and get some affordable art!

Soho Photo is New York City’s longest operating member-run photography gallery, dating from 1971.  For 46 years we were located at 15 White Street in Tribeca.  This past year we moved to an exciting new space on 23rd Street between 10th and 11th Avenues, between Chelsea Piers and the High Line, in the Chelsea gallery district.

Join Soho Photo for our inaugural exhibit at our brand new location on 23rd Street in the Chelsea gallery district in Manhattan.

The exhibit is curated by internationally acclaimed curator Julie Grahame featuring the work of 78 member photographers interpreting the theme of Movement.

Join Soho Photo for an exhibit of handmade books, digital publications, photo card sets, and other photographic objects beyond the traditional matted and framed print hanging on the wall. I will be exhibiting 11 accordion folded prints.

From my artist statement: “These hand-made accordion folded prints are images from my ‘Holgarama’ series. The folding allows for longer imagery than I typically exhibit, as they are each made from a full roll of medium format film, instead of the usual half of a roll. The pictures were shot using a $20 plastic camera (that is no longer made) called the Holga. The long overlapping images are created by only partially advancing the film between exposures – the overlapping occurs in the film itself.”

Each image is about 4 feet wide if forced flat. Fully folded they fit into a clear cigarette box sized package, with a ‘Lucky Strike’ inspired label (just for fun). They can be displayed fanned out on end; the zig-zag creates a piece about 24 inches in width.
